Recipients of 2004-2005 Concordia Intramural Research Grants (CIRG) Announced:
Drs. Kathy Zalewski and Louise Mollinger (both Physical Therapy), $2800 for “Exploring barriers to physical activity in persons with chronic stroke;”
Drs. Jeff Walz (Political Science) and James Burkee (History), $4000 for “Evangelical directions in American Lutheranism: Political and religious attitudes among Lutheran laity in the ELCA, LCMS, and WELS;”
Dr. Steve Cope (Occupational Therapy), $1700 for “The effect of mental practice on functional upper limb movements in children with hemiplegia.”
CHRISTIANITY IN THE CLASSROOM ON THE RISE
The latest compilation of undergraduate course evaluations show a continued increase of CUW instructor's "Integration of Faith and Learning" in the classroom. The Spring 2004 numbers show an increase of 7 percent from the first assessments done in January of 2001. This continues a steady upward trend. 80 percent of CUW students rated this item good or excellent - including 50 percent at excellent. Please see the graph below which shows values from January 2001 to the present.
