Academic Advising

The Academic Advising Program assists students in the process of  planning and individualizing a program of studies which encourages intellectual and spiritual development, self-knowledge and professional competenciesThe vision of the advising process is to be a value-added experience for the student and the advisor.

Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.   Proverbs 19:10

Upon acceptance to the University each degree student is assigned a faculty advisor as his/her personal academic advisor. Students with declared majors are assigned to faculty advisors within their area or department of study. If the student takes LA 105 and is undecided, the instructor teaching the LA 105 course serves as an advisor (for the first year) and works closely with each student to assist in making meaningful and realistic decisions relating to the student's academic program. All other students that are undecided and have not enrolled in LA 105 will work with the Director of Academic Advising.
