One of the ways CUW meets its mission is by promoting scholarly activity among the faculty and students. Research is one type of scholarly activity that involves the development of new knowledge through systematic investigations using the scientific process. Research at CUW is currently being conducted by faculty in a variety of departments - for example Political Science, Psychology, Theology, Education, and the Health Sciences (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy).
By promoting and supporting research activity, CUW makes sure that it attracts top notch faculty and helps the next generation of students better understand the role and importance of research for their profession. Moreover, the ongoing research activity of faculty offers undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to take part in advanced research under the supervision of established researchers. Through collaborative research activities with faculty at other educational institutions or medical centers, CUW is establishing itself as an institution that not only excels in the classroom but also in the research lab.
