CUW MADISON AGAIN TAKES THE PLUNGE!!!!!
It`s that time of the year again! Concordia faculty staff and students along with their family and friends will brave the cold as they plunge into the icy waters of Lake Monona!
Please join the CUW-Madison family in raising funds in support of Wisconsin Special Olympics by joining our plunge team or making a pledge. Of course, we also need plenty of our CUW supporters to cheer us on, so please come join in the fun! All plunge participants will receive a CUW sweatshirt or t-shirt and are eligible to receive incentive prizes from the Special Olympics for their participation and for the pledges they receive.
It all begins on Sat. Feb. 17th at Olin-Turville Park on John Nolan Drive in Madison. At approximately 12:30am the team will make the `plunge`.
Last year the Concordia Madison team raised over $4,800 for Wisconsin Special Olympics and over the last three years have raised over $11,000!!!
Please help us make this year another success by supporting this very worthy cause. If you do not wish to take the plunge you can still raise funds. Just use the attached pledge form.
In the meantime, please take a moment to visit our team plunge page by following the link below. On this page you can join the team, make a pledge, or view pictures from previous plunge years.

This is a great family event with lots of food and fun for kids of all ages. Parking is available at the Alliant Energy Center and Shuttles will be running between the Alliant Energy Center, Coliseum Bar and Olin-Turville Park. The team needs you!
If you wish to join the team, please drop Carrie Cochran a note and she will send you additional information regarding registration and plunge day events for the team.

MBA Program Changes
Submitted by: Bryan Woodhouse, Regional Director
Very recently the Adult Education Department of Concordia has taken responsibility for the MBA program at our local sites. What this means for CUW students is that requests, advising, scheduling and any other concerns will no longer be routed through Mequon,
but will be handled locally at the Madison Center. If you are interested in enrolling
in the MBA program or would like advising or scheduling assistance, please feel free to contact myself or any of our other Madison staff whocan address your needs from here out.
CUW E-learning Program
E-Learning is a new on-line option for students who are interested in distance education.
These courses may appeal to students who prefer self-study to classroom participation, or who missed out on a course needed with their cohort. The tuition is the same as other adult education courses, and books are included in the cost. E-Learning is available for many core class requirements in all majors offered. However, Business Management students have the opportunity to complete their entire degree major online. You are welcome to schedule a combination of in class and ELearning courses as well.
Concordia University takes pride in providing adult working students with a variety of
learning modalities to best assist them in reaching their goals. We hope that ELearning
will be a flexible course option for many of you!
TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES:
It is not too late to register for a travel study this spring. The London trip departing March 8 and returning on the 16th, and the China trip departing March 7th and returning on the 13th still have a few openings. These trips can fill a number of core requirements for adult ed. students such as culture and language, literature or history. Your advisor can help you to determine which class the trip will fill specific to your degree requirements.
These trips are not open only to students; faculty, staff and alumni are also invited to participate in the global travel opportunities. Participants can attend for credit or without seeking credit. Those credit seeking attendees are responsible for tuition plus trip expenses. Participants not seeking credit are responsible only for expenses.
Travel Study grants of $1,000 are available for credit seeking students who qualify; must have 60 CUW credits and be in sound financial standing etc?, please visit the link below for specific requirements. Grant applications must be submitted by May 1, 2007 for travel studies offered in the 07/08 school year. This is a great opportunity for our students to explore other cultures while earning credits toward their degree.
Please visit http://www.cuw.edu/Academics/global_education/study_abroad.html to view available travel abroad opportunities and to download a copy of the Travel Study Handbook and Grant Application. Contact your advisor if you which to participate.
