Welcome to the Counseling Center web site for Concordia University Wisconsin.  The purpose of these pages is to provide you with information about what services are provided by the center and to provide you with links and tips for dealing with basic mental  health issues.  We hope your visit to our site will be useful.

Purpose Statement

The Concordia Counseling Center exists to provide Christian Counseling in a confidential setting with caring and competent staff.

Philosophy

Self Help HandsThe Concordia Counseling Center affirms the Bible as uniquely "inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Tim. 3:16).  The Counseling Center staff recognizes the value of utilizing God's Word in its services to the Concordia community and is postured to affirm the Gospel's proclamation of the forgiveness of sin, the reconciliation of people to God and each other, and the gift of eternal life, through Jesus Christ.

The Concordia Counseling Center strives to utilize God's Word, draw upon His Grace and encourage one another to incorporate their faith in Jesus Christ when responding to psychological crises, facilitating emotional well being, and enhancing the interpersonal development of the students as they prepare for service to Christ in the Church and the world.

The Concordia Counseling Center knows how essential it is for those we serve to be able to trust that their privacy will be respected and honored when they interact with our staff.  Our clients can know that we are committed to the principle of confidentiality as required by state law and as promoted by the ethical standards for the counseling profession.

The Concordia Counseling Center will demonstrate regard, respect, compassion, and sensitivity to all individuals using the services.

The Concordia Counseling Center employs staff who are Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers in the state of Wisconsin and a Masters degree in a counseling related field of study.  Additionally, each counselor receives clinical supervision from a psychologist.  Each counselor is equipped to integrate his/her Christian faith with professional standards and clinical practices.  Modeling the character of Jesus Christ in what we say and do to those whom we counsel is the first and foremost responsibility we have as Christian Counselors.
