Program Overview
BSRS Only Program

Not quite sure if graduate school is for you, but you’d like options? Rehabilitation Science can be useful in and of itself. It is broad enough to be applicable in plenty of medical and health careers while focusing on healing and strengthening the human body. We’ll give you a foundation that you can build on in whichever direction you choose.

BSRS Accelerated Program

The Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science (BSRS) degree is the first step in pursuing your career in occupational or physical therapy. The BSRS Accelerated Program offers a focused education that meets the prerequisites for entering our Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT), Occupational Therapy Doctorate entry-level (OTDe), or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. In the BSRS Accelerated Program, you will get the skills and knowledge that will prepare you for a successful transition from undergraduate to graduate studies at CUW. Learn more here.

Pre-OT Students

If you are a Pre-OT student, you can apply for CUW’s MOT Program during your sophomore year and begin the graduate coursework your junior year. What does that mean for you? By combining the two programs, you will graduate with a bachelor and master’s in 4 ½ years! If you opt for the OTDe degree, you can be finished with both the bachelor and doctoral degree in five years. Our faculty and staff will help you choose the path that best suits your individual goals and needs.

Pre-PT Students

If you are a Pre-PT student, you would apply to the DPT Program your junior year and begin the Program your senior year. This option allows students to complete the DPT degree in 6 rather than 7 years. This option is open to students who enter CUW as freshmen and take all their science prerequisite coursework at Concordia University. If you pursue admission through the accelerated process, you will receive a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science after completing your fourth year of academic study at Concordia University.

Bridge Program for OTA’s and PTA’s

In addition to offering our traditional BSRS degree, we also offer the BSRS Bridge Program for students who currently hold a license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). This unique program provides a pathway for students to pursue their bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science. All courses in the BSRS curriculum are offered in a fully online format. Courses needed to meet the CUW core or prerequisites for the DPT program can be transferred to CUW. Click to learn more about the DPT BSRS Bridge program and the MOT/OTDe BSRS Bridge program

BSRS Dual Degree Program

The BSRS Dual Degree is a collaborative program between CUW and Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College (SNUTC) in Shanghai, China. This program aims to prepare students from China to become qualified rehabilitation therapists with a sound understanding of rehabilitation science knowledge and practical skills to work in rehabilitation hospitals, primary community health service centers, rehabilitation centers, and rehabilitation nursing homes in China. Students apply and are accepted to the BSRS Dual Degree Program by SNUTC and take courses during their first and sophomore years at SNCTU taught by faculty in Shanghai and CUW faculty. Students with good academic standing and English proficiency may choose to take their junior year courses at CUW in person.
