In this day and age, news reports and headlines can paint a bleak picture of our world, taking our eyes off of the powerful work God can do through the faithful gifts of His servants. Here are a few examples of the powerful work He has done here at Concordia in 2008:
- Our students served people throughout the world through service projects such as the Juarez mission trip and the Costa Rica medical mission trip. These students built homes, alleviated pain and disease, and spread the gospel message.
- Over 1000 students graduated from Concordia in the 2007-08 school year, each prepared to serve Christ in the Church and the world through their chosen vocation.
- Our mission led more than 600 students to join Concordia, bringing our total number of students to more than 6,500, each of whom the faculty, staff, and administration are blessed and eager to serve.
- This fall, we completed and dedicated Coburg, our new 350 bed residence hall.
- We began work to establish a School of Pharmacy, which will prepare students to fill the critical pharmacist shortage in Wisconsin, rural areas, and urban communities.
- We received approval from the City of Mequon to construct the Concordia Center for Environmental Stewardship, which will be a living laboratory acknowledging God’s creative hand and our responsibilities as stewards of His creation.
We are truly thankful for the generosity of our many supporters as we help students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world.
