With Lake Michigan to the east and Milwaukee a few minutes to the south, there are a lot of easy ways to get to Concordia. You can always use Google Maps to get directions, but here are a few options we recommend.
I-43 Construction
Starting Monday, July 8, the Highland Road overpass (exit 87), and I-43 southbound and northbound entrance and exit ramps will be closed once again. In addition, the Mequon Road overpass (exit 85) and northbound entrance and exit ramps will also be closed.
This construction project is a part of the I-43 major rehabilitation effort of The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). It spans 14 miles from Silver Spring Drive north to WIS 60, in Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties. Click here to learn more.
Directions to Concordia
From Green Bay and other northerly points, you can take Interstate 43 south to exit 89 (Pioneer Rd). Turn left onto Pioneer Road and continue to North Lake Shore Drive. Turn right onto North Lake Shore Drive. At the first four-way intersection, turn right onto West Bonniwell Road. Follow that road until you reach the next intersection, take a left on Highland Road to Concordia.
Coming from Illinois or other states south of Lake Michigan? Take Interstate 43 north to exit 83 (Port Washington Road / County W). Go straight, towards North Katherine Drive. Continue right through the bend onto West Zedler Lane. At the next major bend, continue left to North Lake Shore Drive, follow this through another bend to the left, onto East Mequon Road. At the next four-way intersection, take a right, back onto North Lake Shore Drive. Follow this through the next bend, to Concordia.
From points east you'll have to either go through Chicago or Upper Michigan. There is a shortcut though: two car ferries cross Lake Michigan. The S.S. Badger comes in to Manitowoc, WI about 65 miles due north of Concordia. The Lake Express comes to Milwaukee, about 20 miles south of Concordia.
From Madison, Interstate 94 will take you straight to Milwaukee, then go north on Interstate 43 to exit 83 (Port Washington Road / County W). Go straight, towards North Katherine Drive. Continue right through the bend onto West Zedler Lane. At the next major bend, continue left to North Lake Shore Drive, follow this to the left through another bend, onto East Mequon Road. At the next four-way intersection, take a right, back onto North Lake Shore Drive. Follow this through the next bend, to Concordia.
You'll have to rent a car once you get here, but you can fly in to Mitchell International Airport from 100s of locations all over the world. Amtrak, Greyhound and other charter buses run through the Milwaukee Intermodal Station seven days a week.
